2008 Congressional Accompaniment Project
A hands-on educational experience for members of Congress, their Foreign Policy Aides and their local constituents
The Congressional Accompaniment Project is a travel program by which Americans, concerned for a just peace in Israel/Palestine, can assist their Congressional representatives and/or their foreign policy Aides to be more informed regarding the “facts on the ground” in Israel/Palestine.
We are very sorry to say that we have had to cancel the 2008 CAP tour due to the fact that we have not received a sufficient number of applications.
We have not abandoned the CAP program and plan to schedule a CAP Tour in August 2009, which does not have the disadvantage of being an election year.
If you are interested in pursuing a tour to Israel-Palestine this year that is similar to the CAP tour, we suggest that you look into the tours offered by the Interfaith Peace Builders.** They have several very good tours to Israel-Palestine this year with a similar purpose. Their web-site is: www.ifpbdel.org
If you wish to wait for the 2009 CAP tour, we would be pleased to have you with us then. If you plan on joining next year's CAP tour, you can begin, or continue to communicate with your congressional member well in advance of the CAP tour date: August 18 - 28, 2009.
Again, we regret this year's cancellation and encourage you to not abandon your peace & justice advocacy or your work toward a more informed Congress.
Faithfully,
Darrell & Sue Yeaney, CAP Tour Coordinators
